Support For Windows XP Will Soon End

12-31-13 – Are you still using Microsoft Windows XP?  If you are, here is some IMPORTANT news about what’s about to happen to Windows XP in the new year.

ALL SUPPORT FOR WINDOWS XP, SP3 or Office XP will soon end.  That’s right.  Microsoft has said after 11 years of providing software updates, bug fixes, etc for their Windows XP operating system and products, will soon come to an end April 8th, 2014.

If you are currently using a computer with Windows XP and have Microsoft Security Essentials free antivirus installed, it will no longer work with XP once the April 8th, 2014 expiry date hits, so you will have to install Avast, Norton, McAfee, or another type of antivirus program to protect you from future viruses.

So what does Computers Byte! LLC recommend at this point?  Upgrade, Upgrade, Upgrade!  Buy a new computer that can support Windows 7 or 8.1.  We currently Recommend Windows 7 and if you try and find a machine with Windows 7 locally in the stores, you won’t.  You’ll have to buy online.  http://www.Dell.com is one of the top brands aside from http://www.HP.com we recommend.  If you’re so used to Windows XP and want a computer similar, we recommend Windows 7 whereas Windows 8 is VERY different.
